Petco Grooming Prices

One of the oldest pet stores in the country is PetCo and it offers many of the services and products that its competitors now have as well, like PetSmart grooming and pet adoption. Getting to Know Petco

PetCo started all the way back in 1965 and was founded by Walter Evans. Back then the company was known as UPCO or United Pharmaceutical Company and functioned as a mail-order supply for veterinarian needs. Most of the consumers back then were ranchers, grooming shops, kennels, and catteries.

The company then rebranded itself as Petco in 1979. This change was made to better reflect the company’s relationship with pet owners and suppliers. The world was changing and more and more people owned animal companions. Petco changed to address this increasing need.

The first official Petco store then opened in 1980. The first branch with the official Petco name was in Tigard, Oregon, just a little bit out of California. To this day there are now over 1,300 Petco branches and they go beyond the United States – you’ll find Petco in Mexico and in Puerto Rico.

In 1994 the company went public, officially listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange as PETC. This is followed by the founding of the Petco Foundation in 1999, the first major non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare.

Petco has a reputation for never selling dogs or cats and establishes itself as a “adoption first” type of pet supply store. By 2008 the company completely stopped selling rabbits and the little animals are now available for adoption instead.

In 2009 Unleashed by Petco was opened. This served as a smaller package but still provided the majority of services that the bigger branches had.

PetCo’s Main Services

Petco is known for being one of the leading animal solutions company in the country. Before any of the popular chains became popular Petco was already there providing animal owners the supplies and solutions they need. Some of these Petco services include:

Animal Training

Peto is one of the first companies to offer extensive animal training services, particularly for dogs. Accompanied by a professional dog trainer, you will learn how to teach your dog not to chew on your curtains, carpets, and shoes. You will learn how to potty train your dog, how to help it adjust to different environments, and how to interact with other people.

These training assistance programs are especially useful for new dog owners. Dog training is also a means for a new owner to bond with their dog and to ensure that both the owner and dog understand the roles each other has towards one another.

You’ll learn how to keep your dog behaved, how to make it comfortable with a leash and collar, and how to make sure your dog doesn’t attack strangers on the street when you’re out on a walk. You’ll learn basic tricks and the essentials of training so you can continue teaching your dog at home.

Pooch Hotel

Pooch Hotel serves as the perfect place to leave your dog temporarily. If you have cleaners coming to get rid of insect pests or rodents or if you just need a place for your to stay while you’re out on vacation then Pooch Hotel is the perfect solution.

Your pet will carefully watched for, fed, and even walked from time to time. The handlers treat these animals as lovingly and as careful as you would, thus ensuring that your dog gets the love and care they deserve.

Pet Grooming

Ever wanted to pamper your dog with full spa services? Petco’s grooming is the perfect solution. You can go in for a quick bath or full grooming services and the best is that the average Petco grooming cost is relatively low when compared to other pet solution companies.

You can go in for a bath or you can avail of a full package that includes a bath, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and more. By the end of the day you’ll discover your dog being happier, prettier, and cleaner than before.

There’s also a Puppy’s First Bath service which is to ease your little companion into the bathing routine so it doesn’t get scared. This service helps to train puppies to enjoy the luxury of a good bath and pampering.

Mini Make Rover is another grooming service that you might enjoy and this one is designed to make your dogs as astoundingly beautiful as possible. This is a favorite service among pet owners who often let their dogs join competitions.

Petco Vaccination Clinics

Petco started as a veterinarian supply chain and it still offers vaccinations and other veterinarian services to animal companions. It is still better to seek a professional vet clinic but if you want immediate service while at the pet store then the vaccination clinics are your best option.

Other Offers from PetCo

As mentioned above, Petco has never sold dogs or cats. Instead, the company offers pets for adoption. This helps save stray, homeless animals from being imprisoned in dog pounds or being left for euthanasia.

Is PetCo Expensive?

Of course one of the major concerns is the cost for Petco services and products. Are Petco grooming prices higher than their competition? The truth is that Petco, while being the number one pet solution in the country, is actually pretty affordable.

Just think of the numerous affordable solutions offered: you can adopt pets for free, you can get free or relatively low vaccinations, and the grooming and training sessions are cheap enough for just about anyone to avail.

Petco offers the lowest possible prices because it isn’t about the money; it’s about pet care and that has always been the focus of the company. This is why Petco opened the Petco Foundation for animal charity movements and the adoption process.

If you want the best grooming, best training, best products, or a temporary home for your pet while you’re out of town then Petco is the best solution there is. With low Petco grooming cost and numerous options available, you’ll never need to look elsewhere.

You should really remove these prices off your site. Very misleading. Made an appointment for a medium sized dog, full grooming – $45 per this site. Got to the store, and it was $74.00. Mentioned the on-line price structure to the groomer, and he says ” yeah, the on-line prices are wrong”. $30 wrong is a big wrong. Won’t see me again. The local mobile groomer is a $80 flat fee, and I don’t have the inconvenience of drop off and waiting at pick up.

Look fo an independent groomer. In Salem Oregon I go to Snuggles. It’s 45 for full groom on my lab. Those prices are outragious. My dog loves her! Also I’d demand the advertises price,it’s not a sale it’s what is posted online standard.

You really should be more clear about the prices, because now I’m just confused so I’m moving on to the next pet grooming site.

I took my dog, Banjo, in today to Petco. He got a shampoo/conditioner/blow dry, brushing, ear cleaning and nails clipped for only $31 (I’m in Vancouver, WA). That’s lower than the lowest price for his size listed above! He is a medium sized medium haired mixed breed. He has long hair on his tail and big tufts of fur on the backs of his hind legs that always get tangled and matted. They brushed him all out and he smells clean and his coat is super shiny. Kelly was our groomer and she was fantastic and treated my dog like a prince. I’m a very happy customer…remember to tip your groomer!

If I give my small poodle mix a bath at home, could you just give her a haircut, including your basic regular grooming service?

Thank you for suggesting me the prices of theirs grooming services. I take their services seriously and my puppy is important to me. I’m sorry that I didn’t communicate the time to complete the groom. In the future, let’s discuss my expectations more thoroughly so I can exceed them.

Please NOTE! Guys! This is NOT the Official page for Petco!!!! The prices are not true. Every district is different. The prices are competitive but please CALL your local Petco to get actual prices from them!
Also not all petcos have cat grooming available. It only mentioned kitten prices bc adult cat prices are now anywhere between 65$ for baths to 113$ for bath and haircuts!

Walked into Petco in Round Lake Beach Illinois. Was 5:15 on a Friday. Was told pet nail trimming is not available and closed. Why even be open? Smh. Taking my business elsewhere.

Why don’t you book an appointment?
They’re either short-staffed or do not have the time for walk-in services.
